OBBF Church Planters and Missionaries

The Ohio Baptist Bible Fellowship is committed to planting independent Baptist churches throughout Ohio.  To this end, the churches of this great fellowship gave over $60,000 in 2007 to support new works in this state.

The OBBF is proud to be considered one of the leading states (if not the leading state), in all the BBFI, in church planting.

Check back frequently, as this state does not remain stagnant when it comes to the Great Commission!

REV. JEREMY STOUT
– Bible Baptist Church, Marysville, OH

Jeremy and Courtney Stout have just celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary and now are excited about beginning Bible Baptist Church of Marysville.  Courtney was saved at a Fellowship church in Williamsburg, Ohio as a child through their bus ministry.  She is a graduate of Williamsburg High School.  Jeremy is a graduate of Western Brown High School and went to study Mathematics at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  It was during his sophomore year of college that he accepted God’s call into the ministry.  Jeremy served as Sunday School Superintendant at Bible Baptist Church of Mt. Orab from 2000 - 2002, and has been an assistant pastor at Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington, from 2002 - until the present time.  “God has given me more training than I could have ever received elsewhere, from two very wise preachers.  So now it is time for God to start receiving back on His investment in my life.  To whom much is given much is required, and I feel as though God has given me a great deal of learning and experience from my two pastors.”  The Stout’s are excited about starting BBC of Marysville and want to give God as much glory with their lives as they can.

Jeremy was approved by the OBBF for "Fellowship" support in the June 2007 OBBF meeting.

PASTOR ROBERT SISCO

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Coalinga, CA

Pastor Robert Sisco and Family are missionary church planters in the town of Coalinga, CA.

A native of Phoenix Arizona, Rob Sisco was saved at the age of nine while attending a youth camp.  After graduating from high school, Bro. Sisco joined the US Navy to fulfill his life-long dream of becoming a Navy Seal.  However in February of 2001, while stationed in Keflavik Iceland, God placed a call on Bro. Sisco's heart to become a pastor.  After two years of resistance, he finally surrendered to God's call on his life.

Bro. Rob Sisco got out of the Navy after nine years of faithful service to begin what God called him to do.  He attended New Testament Baptist Bible Institute under the leadership of his pastor, Pastor Thomas King, in Armona, CA.  During his third year in Bible Institute God began to burden his heart about starting a church in the Central Valley of California.  After much prayer, he felt led to begin a new work in Coalinga, CA., a former oil town nestled in the beautiful "Pleasant Valley."  Licensed and sent out by New Testament Baptist Church in Armona, CA., Pastor Sisco and his family planted Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in September 2006.

Pastor Sisco's wife, Charity, is the eldest daughter of Pastor Bud Silva of Coast Hills Baptist Church in Santa Maria, CA.  She is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist College in Oklahoma City.  They have three boys, Caleb Paul,Noah Andrew, who was born one week after their first service, and Elijah Michael.

REV. TIM POMEROY
– Bible Baptist Church, Cinncinati, OH

Tim and Julie Pomeroy have been married eight years and have two children.  They were married at Bible Baptist Church of West Union by Pastor Tim Carter.  Julie was saved at Immanuel Baptist Church of Cincinnati as a teen on a youth outing.  Julie is a graduate of Immanuel Christian Schools in Cincinnati.  Tim is a graduate of Grand Blanc High School in the “great state” of Michigan.  After graduating from high school, Tim joined the United States Army and did two tours in Louisiana and Alaska.  Tim served as youth pastor at Bible Baptist Church of Mt.Orab, Victory Baptist Church of Portsmouth and Immanuel Baptist Church of Cincinnati.  Tim and Julie are members of Manchester Road Baptist Church of Middletown where Dr. Grant Lawrence is pastor.   “God has blessed and given me more grace than I deserve.  My testimony is this, I was broken and the Lord put me back together the way He wanted me.  God used loving, gracious men to restore what some wanted to discard.  Because of this, I know the Lord has called me to help restore the broken, the discarded and the lost.” The Pomeroys are excited about starting BBC of Cincinnati and thank the OBBF for their support.  The investment these churches make will be seen in heaven.

Tim was approved by the OBBF for "Designated" support in the July 2007 OBBF meeting.

REV. SEAN BURLESON
– ConnectionPoint Baptist Church, St. Joseph , MI

Sean and Marcie Burleson have been married for 13 years.  They have a seven year old daughter, Samantha, and a 21 month old son, Aiden.  God has called the Burlesons to plant a church in Sean's hometown of St. Joseph Michigan.

Sean was raised in a Catholic family in the St. Joseph/Benton Harbor MI area.  He became disillusioned with religion at an early age.  He moved to Biloxi MS, and on December 12, 1992 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, he heard the gospel for the first time and accepted Christ as his Savior.  He answered God's call to the ministry six months later, was married and attended BBC in 1994.  Marcie was raised in a church planter's home and made a profession at an early age.  But it was more about what others wanted and not her desire.  But at age 25 she came to terms with her eternal destiny, and went forward trusting Christ as her Savior.  Since then, it has been her desire to serve the Lord wherever He leads her family.

While at BBC, they served at Cherry St. Baptist Church, Ken Gillming pastor.  They graduated in 1997 and returned to work in their home church, Lighthouse Baptist church, Randy Farwell pastor.  They served there until 2005, when God moved them to work on staff at Trinity Baptist Church, Abilene Texas, Kevin Kennedy pastor.  It was there God called Sean to plant a church in his hometown of St. Joe.  In 2007, they moved back to Biloxi to raise support and make preparations for the move to Michigan.  In August, they relocated to St. Joseph, Michigan to act on the vision, passion and call God has given them for the people of Southwest Michigan.  They are proud to have Lighthouse Baptist Church as their sending church.  On October 14th 2007, they will launch ConnectionPoint Baptist Church.

Sean was approved by the OBBF for "Fellowship" support in the June 2007 OBBF meeting.
